Experience
It is my goal to help students overcome their fear of math and learn how to appreciate this fascinating discipline through hands-on activities. I believe that math can be a fun and challenging subject to learn when taught right, which is why I like to come up with creative ways to help students improve their understanding of various types of math. Along with teaching, I've worked as a chemical and aerospace engineer for three decades. During this time, I have also worked as a consultant where I've advised people on a number of engineering-related topics. Along with engineering and math, I love teaching and enjoy having the opportunity to share my own experiences with students looking to expand their knowledge. While working on my PhD, I taught trig and college algebra in the classroom, in addition to running a senior design lab. I believe that the best way to succeed as an educator is to get to know your students so that you can come up with material that's designed with them in mind. That way, you're able to teach to their strengths while helping them overcome their weaker areas. When I'm not working and teaching, I like flying and building airplanes.
